News About Yoyo

Susan, 43, has been dieting since her early thirties. She then quits her eating habits and regains all her pounds in the following handful of months.

Susan, like a lot of yoyo dieters, has 3 sets of clothes: fats clothes, skinny clothes along with a couple of in between. Her fat clothes are baggy and tasteless; her skinny outfits are elegant and glamorous. Susan lives with the magic moment when she are going to be slim as soon as and for all.

But she finds it increasingly more hard to reduce excess fat and no matter how hard she tries, the figure on the scale won’t budge. She now weighs 82 kilograms (180 pounds), and it is the fattest she’s ever been. She eats tiny during the day, and has a late evening meal. She avoids carbohydrates as she thinks they’re fattening.

Bottom feeding aquarium fish generally feed off the base of the aquarium tank. They guide keep your aquarium clean. Among one of the most popular, are Loaches.

Her fat burning capacity is too sluggish and her shape won’t lose fat. She nevertheless wants to get rid of weight, but she doesn’t believe she can do it without the will need of a magic wand.

Metabolism includes all of the processes that occur within the system and which might be made to maintain us alive. Our basal metabolic process will be the electricity we demand to function although at rest, and we use up much more power when we’re active. Weight loss is difficult simply because we need to spend far more energy than we take in, and although we aim at losing fat, we would like to preserve and acquire our muscles. When there’s not enough muscle tissue, we lose a lesser amount of energy, which can be a superb cause to physical exercise moderately and to tone our bodies.

When our metabolism is as well slow, the shape refuses to melt off fat. As time goes by, the dilemma only seems to have worse. The older we get, the a lesser amount of food we need to survive, which can be unfortunate, as we often acquire a keen interest in meals when we get older!

Our require for dietary body fat diminishes with age, and kids demand a greater percentage of fat in their weight loss plan than adults do. Because they grow, they will need a lot more concentrated supplies of power inside the form of fatty acids. Fat is also important for the development with the nervous method (brain and nerves), in particular in babies and toddlers, and human breast milk is surprisingly higher in fat.

Our fat burning capacity slows for other reasons besides old age, and some of them are:

- shortage of exercise;
– fasting (while consuming increases our metabolism, fasting decreases it);
– menopause (the change of life);
– chronic anxiety (stress can either increase or decrease our metabolic rate);
– alcohol consumption;
– giving up smoking (it’s not an excellent cause to guide keep lighting up!)
– specified pharmaceutical drugs;
– certain organic diseases, like disorders on the thyroid gland.

A medical check-up is usually a beneficial approach to do away with physical causes when all your weight reduction efforts seem for being in vain.

Excessive dieting has a dangerous effect on our metabolism, mainly because we are programmed to conserve fat, not to eradicate it. The body rings the “alarm bells” as soon as our caloric intake becomes too low. The less we eat, the much less vitality we burn, specifically when we lessen our carbohydrate intake.

Because of strong peer pressure and the suitable of a model-like figure promoted by the media, teenage girls frequently weight reduction plan even though they are already slim. When I was a teenager I was convinced I had to become as thin as a model or a movie star so as to be attractive. Not only do many models suffer from malnutrition or anorexia, that is not some thing we must strive for, but dieting when not overweight drastically reduces our metabolism. We finish up fat, although we were slim within the earliest place.

Frequent alterations in excess weight (the yoyo effect) are also detrimental, and crash diets have a very rebound effect. Towards the end of a weight reduction diet we knowledge intolerable hunger, together with a slow metabolic rate.

Moderate physical exercise will stimulate a sluggish metabolism, but over-exercising has the opposite effect. If you physical exercise as well much, your system will only burn a minimum amount of calories, to be able to conserve energy. There can be a rebound result right after discontinuing strenuous exercise.

Certainly fat and protein can offer caloric energy, but complicated carbohydrates assist improve your metabolism, as they stimulate all active processes, specially extra fat burning.

While nothing stops you from eating carrot and celery sticks as well, the carbohydrate-rich bread will stimulate your metabolism, so you can use a low-fat filling or spread. For exactly the same reason, eating only steak and salad does not work, as the shortage of complex carbohydrates only worsens your hunger feelings, and also you wind up a nervous wreck.

To avoid hunger attacks and assist your system shed fat, have numerous smaller meals, instead of three huge ones. Small meals guarantee you have a very constant supply of electricity your system can burn.

Loaches really like actively scouring the base of their homes for food, and they also love hiding places. Loaches mouthes have barbels and their mouthes are down-turned. Loches obtain their meals at the base in the tank.

Proper Fish Tank Water Treatment For Healthy Fish

If you want to have healthy fish, you need to have the right type of water in your fish tank. Many people who are just beginning to set up a fish tank don’t understand how important it is to test your water and treat it for any imbalances. You need to have the right water for your fish.

Different fish have different requirements when it comes to the condition of the water that they will do best in. It is always a good idea to test your water for the pH, gH, and kH levels and try to get fish that thrive in water similar to the water that you already have. This will mean less work for you when it comes to fish tank water treatment.

Tap water tends to be the best type of water for your freshwater fish tanks, but it does need some treatment before it can be used. Chlorine is not good for fish, so you need to remove the chlorine from the water before adding it to your tank. You can use a conditioner as a way to try to correct any imbalances in your water and add beneficial substances. This type of fish tank water treatment is common. It will get rid of the chlorine. You can also leave tap water sitting out for 24 hours to get rid of chlorine, though this will not correct any other imbalances.

If the pH of your water is not at the right level, or is not remaining stable, you might need to do a fish tank water treatment in order to correct this. Sometimes this can be as simple as mixing a small amount of spring water in with the tank water. Other times you will need to treat whatever is causing the pH fluctuation.

You also need to make sure that the kH, or concentration of carbonates and bicarbonates, in your water is at the proper level. These help to buffer the water so that the pH stays more constant, otherwise as time goes on it will get acidic. There are a number of different options you can use for fish tank water treatment if you have high or low kH levels, including various chemicals you can purchase at the store.

You gH is the general hardness of your water. Some fish prefer harder water and some prefer softer water. You can use peat moss to soften the water, or add rocks to help harden the water. The simplest thing to do is get fish that suit the water that you already have so you don’t need to do too much treatment of your water.

Basic Types Of Protein Skimmers

One of the chief concerns in maintaining an aquarium is water purification. Unless you want to change the water of your aquarium frequently, one of the best tools that you have for keeping the water clean is a protein skimmer. This device helps remove organic wastes from the water before they become harmful substances like ammonia and nitrates.

A protein skimmer works by separating the organic waste present on the water through air bubbles. This process is also called foam fractionation. The idea is that when air bubbles pass through the water, it attracts the waste in the water. The bubbles, together with the waste, then rise up to the surface of the water, and the foam created can then be collected and removed. This results in cleaner water that can be returned to the tank’s water supply. The water is kept purer longer, which ensures the health of your fish and also reduces the need for frequent water changes in the aquarium.

There are several methods on how to do this, but the general considerations are that the water and air bubbles should have longer contact with each other to ensure maximum filtration. Another thing to note is the amount and size of the air bubbles produced by the protein skimmer. More bubbles and bubbles sized at 0.5 to 1 mm. are optimal.

There are three general types of protein skimmers you can choose from. These are counter current, venturi, and turbo protein skimmers.

Counter current skimmers work by forcing air bubbles through water flowing in the opposite direction. Air bubbles are created through an air pump, while the water is forced through by a water pump. The contact between the air bubbles and water induces the filtration process. These types are usually in-tank, so they can obstruct your view of the aquarium and take up some space.

The venturi protein skimmer use water pressure and a venturi tube. Water is injected to a venturi tube in high pressure through a water pump. Since the venturi tube is constricted in the middle and has an air intake tube near the bottleneck, the change in pressure creates a vacuum, where air is sucked in from the intake tube that creates the air bubbles.

Turbo protein skimmers, also called needle wheel skimmers, work by combining air and water then forcing them through a blade to create air bubbles. The water and air mixture are forced through the blade, then through a reservoir by a water pump. As the water is forced up through a tube, it creates more contact between the water and air bubbles for better water purification.

Aside from the three qualities of a good protein skimmer, you also need to consider its installation. You should look for one that can be easily integrated with your current filtration system. You also have to look at the additional equipment that you need to get, like water pumps or air pumps. Placement is also important, such as whether it’s in-tank or hanging out from the rim.

Another consideration is price. Of course, the more expensive ones are more effective. It would depend on how much you’re willing to shell out for a protein skimmer. You do need to remember that having a good protein skimmer ensures that water purity in your aquarium, which means fewer water changes and a healthier environment for your fish.

Choosing The Right Fish Tank For Your Home

For the soon-to-be owner of the home aquarium who has little to no education regarding fish and equipment that might be needed, it might be wish to do some reading before purchasing. Prior to the purchase of fish tanks or aquariums, one certainly should have some idea of what type of fish will be taking up their abode in this quarters. It could prove to be a costly mistake otherwise. Will the fish you decide upon have adequate space or perhaps too much space? These are points to be considered carefully. Once you have clarified this issue, you can move forward.

The next consideration in your new venture might be how much living space can you afford to give up for this new addition. Certainly not only must you account for the wall space needed but depth into the room as well as there needs to be space in the back of fish tanks to accommodate the filter, hoses and power cords. Once again, literature can be essential in this entire process. While aquariums are pleasant to the eye and soothing to the spirit, it is not an easy undertaking.

You might pose the question to yourself regarding the long term commitment to this hobby. Is it just a whim to be discontinued after a short time or the long haul relationship? This might help you in deciding how much you plan to spend on fish tanks. There is unlimited amounts to be spent in this leisure activity so plan accordingly before you make that visit to the pet shop where you might be easily persuaded to over-spend. Be realistic!

Obviously, there will need to be many other accessories to be added to your aquarium/fish tank. Seek the advice of an authority or knowledgeable sales person when you go to select your fish tank. They can guide you so long as they are aware of your specific needs and budget. One particular essential will be a stand for your aquarium/fish tank. These are from basic to the most elaborate. In the higher end of the expenditure list, one might even consider having the tank actually set into a wall which is most unique in design. This would certainly qualify for the open-ended budget without restraint.

Allow time for the setting-up process of getting your fish tank ready for its new occupants. There are several steps to be followed in this endeavor but can prove quite worthwhile in the end. Just to have the pleasure of sitting in front of your very own fish tank and watching the fish as they swim so effortlessly. It is thought that merely watching can have a calming effect on the human body even to the lowering of stress levels.

Koi Fish Information

Koi Fish Information The term ‘koi’ comes from Japanese language, simply meaning “carp.” It includes both the dull grey fish and the brightly decorated varieties. What are acknowledged as ‘koi’ in English are referred to more specifically as ‘nishikigoi’ in Japan (literally meaning ‘brocaded carp’).

In Japanese, ‘koi’ is a homophone for another word that means ‘affection or love’; koi are thus symbols of love and friendship in Japan. Koi tattoos have also become a fashionable trend in North America.Koi varieties are distinguished by coloration, patterning, and scalation. A number of the foremost colors are white, black, red, yellow, blue, and cream.

Culled fry are commonly destroyed (perhaps fed to other fish), while older culls, within their first year between 3″ to 6″ long (also called “Tosai”), are quite often sold as lower-grade ‘pond-quality’ koi. While the potential color grades are practically infinite, breeders have identified and named a number of particular categories. The most common group is Gosanke, which is made up of the Kohaku, Taisho Sanshoku, and Showa Sanshoku varieties.The common carp is a hardy little fish, and koi maintain that durability. Koi are cold-water fish, but benefit from being kept in the 15-25 degrees C (59-77 degrees F) range and do not react well to lengthy cold winter temperatures, their immune system ’switches off’ under 10 degrees Celsius.

Koi Fish Guide. Koi will churn out many thousands of offspring from a single spawning. However, unlike goldfish, the large majority these offspring, even from the finest champion-grade koi, will not be acceptable as nishikigoi (they have no appealing colors) or could possibly be genetically defective. These unacceptable offspring are culled at various stages of development based on the breeder’s knowhow and closely guarded trade techniques. Culled fry are ordinarily destroyed (perhaps fed to other fish), while older culls, within their first year between 3″ to 6″ long (also called “Tosai”), are frequently passed on as lower-grade ‘pond-quality’ koi.

Tropical Fish Species review

by Gavish Rotem

So how can I choose my first fish or maybe I need to change my current aquarium population? There are many families of tropical fish, tangs, catfish, bottom feeders, Characins, cyprinids, labyrinth fish, rainbowfish and many more. Make sure that your wishful tropical fish suit to your fish tank size and pick one. The Betta splendens is good selection; it is very hardy and tolerates species.

In the wild, bettas males have very shorter fins that those we usually see in stores, these are called by the Thai people “Plakad” (meaning- “Fighter”), and are used in Thailand for show-fights (just like roosters). The betta is very hardy and durable to low water conditions, though; long-finned strains are more susceptible to high amounts of nitrogen compounds in water and will quickly suffer from fin-rot, dropsy and other illnesses. In large fish tanks Betta splendens requires good filtration system with low to moderate water flow. If water flow is too strong, the betta will settle in a spot where flow is lowest and will hardly move from it. When kept in a jar, water should be changed every week or even twice a week- the amount of water changed, depends on the jar’s volume. Some people buy dry leafs of a tree called Ketapang/Indian Almond-tree (Terminalia katappa) and put them to the betta’s jar. It is said to help preventing infectious illnesses and getting the betta into breeding-mood. When feeding these fish, avoid over-feeding, as these fish tend to gorge itself, which might end up in a bloated fish suffering from deadly incurable Enlarged-leaver.

Another common tropical fish is the Labidochromis caeruleus also known as the yellow lab. The lemon cichlid (Labidochromis caeruleus) is one of the most astonishing Mbuna that exist in the trade, its yellow and black colors along with the fact that it is one of the least aggressive cichlids makes it very popular all over the world. The Labidochromis caeruleus needs at least 20 gallon aquarium.

The Labidochromis caeruleus should kept in large community fish tank with other small Mbuna type fish like the species from the Labeotropheus Melanochromis. Decorate the tank with rocks, caves and other hiding places. These fish prefer hard alkaline water with a fairly high PH. The lemon cichlid will appreciate water changes on a weekly basis and well filtered water.One of the easiest Mbuna to breed.The Labidochromis caeruleus known as mouthbrooder. In order to maintain male Aggression they should be kept in ratio of three females to each male in the tank. The Preferred spawning site is on a flat stone, the female will take the unfertilized eggs in her mouth, eggs will be fertilized after the male release his sperm into her mouth.

The last one and one of my favorites, belongs to the livebearers family, the famous Guppy fish. This beautiful fish is an elongated tropical fish that available in many different colors. The guppy is one of the most popular aquarium fishes all over the globe with many standardized varieties. This species offers a large selection of colors with no two fish similar. It is a small member of the Poeciliidae family (and like all other members of the family, he is livebearer). The most notable characteristic of this group is the presence of a copula-tory organ in males the andropodium or gonopodium, this organ is formed by the anterior rays of the anal fin. It easy to distinguish between male and females, Females are dull grey while the males are very colorful and have large fins. Guppy is an omnivore, The guppy eat almost everything, flakes, pellets, frozen foods and live foods. It is highly recommended to feed them in small amounts at least 2-3 times a day.

There is nothing special to setup if you want to breed guppy, the only thing you need to consider is to bring one male and three females, the reason you need to bring more than one female for the male not harass the females to the point of exhaustion. Like all livebearers when the female is in pregnant it will develop a dark triangular shaped gravid spot near her anal vent. As the pregnancy progresses this dark triangular shaped gravid spot will get larger and darker. At the time the fry comes out recommended to move them or the parents to another tank or else the parents will eat their own fry.

by Mandy Williams

Keeping the aquarium clean will ensure you some health fish. This means less time to treat them and more time to enjoy them. Taking care of the fish in the aquarium is not an easy task but if you get the hang of it, everything will go really easy. So use the proper equipment to clean the tank and use it well. There are a few tips and tricks that you can learn in order to be a good aquarium owner.

First of all, if you want to clean the tank, don’t use house cleaners. Some of them are really toxic for the fish and plants. So buy some proper cleaners for you tank.

Besides that, always monitor the water level in the tank and the water pump very clean. Also remember to clean the filtration system from time to time so that it doesn’t break. Many times, the life of the aquarium depends on the filtration system. When you choose a filtration system take into consideration the manufacturer, the fish species and the components.

Another important fact in keeping the fish healthy is the cleaning of the ornaments. They should be washed and cleaned with proper cleaners at least twice a month.

The cleaning will stop the algae from growing without a purpose. Another aspect is that the aquariums made of plastic need cleaning more often, sometimes even once a week.
